OLYMPIC COURSE:

Swim - 1,100 Yards, Bike - 19 Miles, Run - 10 Kilometers

About:

The Tinman is a great way to kick off your race season. We offer both Sprint and Olympic distances with a pool swim and moderately challenging bike and run courses.

The race begins with the swim portion in our 8-lane pool, followed by the bike portion and finishing up with the run. The Olympic run follows the bike trail along the scenic Pomme de Terre River and ends on the UMN campus.

Catch up with fellow triathletes and visit with our friendly volunteers - snacks and refreshments will be available before and after the race!

Swim:
1,100 or 450 yards (Olympic/sprint) in the Cougar Sports Center pool (22/9 laps). Wetsuits allowed. Most swimmers will be sharing a lane with 1-3 others. Because of this, circle swimming is recommended. You will be placed with swimmers of a similar caliber.

Olympic distance race will begin first; sprint triathletes to follow at the conclusion of the Olympic swim.

Bike:
A 19 or 12 mile out-and-back course along Highways 59 and 10. All participants are required to wear a cycling helmet.

Run:
The 10k Olympic distance will run through Pomme de Terre Park, while the 5k will proceed up the Highway hill and loop through the West Central Research and Outreach Center. Both courses will finish back at the RFC lower lot.
